About Tamar Braxton

Tamar Braxton’s entry into the music industry came through her five-member sibling group, the Braxtons, which featured older sisters Traci, Trina, Towanda, and Toni. The quartet released one single, the number 79 Billboard R&B single “Good Life,” for Arista in 1990. Tamar released a self-titled album in 2000 that placed two singles on the charts, including the Top 30 R&B hit “If You Don’t Wanna Love Me,” co-written by Christopher “Tricky” Stewart and Xscape’s LaTocha Scott. Her December 2012 single “Love and War” peaked at number five on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart and preceded her album of the same title, released the following September. It debuted at number two on the Billboard 200. Only two months later, she released the holiday album Winter Loversland. Three Grammy nominations for Love and War and its title track followed shortly after that. As she maintained her reality television profile, she recorded her third studio album, Calling All Lovers, which was released in 2015. In the summer of 2017, Braxton issued the single “My Man” in advance of her album, I Know Who I Am as a Woman.

Music isn’t the only way the creative Braxton expresses herself. She executive produces and stars in the WE tv reality hit “Braxton Family Values.” Originally created and spearheaded by Braxton and sisters, the show soared as the cable network’s highest-rated television show. Braxton also co-stars alongside her music manager husband Vince Herbert on WE tv’s spinoff Tamar & Vince. Its second season premieres on Sept. 5. Elsewhere on the TV front, Braxton co-hosts and produces FOX-TV’s “The Real” which recently rated #1 as the highest rated test-run in talk show history. Braxton reveals, “‘The Real’ is one of the best things to ever happen to me. I get to chat with a group of women and its feels like happy hour in the middle of the day.”

About Jagged Edge:

Jagged Edge is an American R&B group; featuring lead singers, identical twins Brandon and Brian Casey “The Casey Boys” (formerly known as Case Dinero and Brasco), Kyle Norman (formerly known as Quick), and Richard Wingo (formerly known as “Wingo Dollars” or “Wingo Dollar.” Signed through Jermaine Dupri’s So So Def Records to Columbia Records, the group has had a number of hit singles, many of which are produced by Dupri. Lead singers Brandon and Brian have written the bulk of the groups material. They have also written for Usher, Nivea and Toni Braxton. In addition to their projects, the group has collaborated with a number of artists. Jagged Edge began their mainstream recording career with the single “The Way That You Talk”. They followed this in 1998 with the album, A Jagged Era which managed to go gold featuring the singles “I Gotta Be” and “The Way That You Talk”. “I Gotta Be” which was written by the twins, reached #11 on the R&B charts and #23 on the Hot 100. Following up their debut album, Jagged Edge released J.E. Heartbreak in 2000. The album was the group’s breakthrough album with several popular singles. The album went double platinum and had the hit single “Let’s Get Married” which topped the R&B charts and reached #11 on the Hot 100. The album’s second single, “He Can’t Love You” (released January 18, 2000) had similar success, reaching #3 on the R&B charts and #15 on the Hot 100. It also featured the track “Promise” which, albeit a late single coming out in 2000, reached #1 on the R&B charts and #9 on the Hot 100.

The group’s third release, Jagged Little Thrill, was released in 2001 and went platinum. Its success was in large part, due to the up- tempo “Where The Party At,” which reached #1 on the R&B charts and #3 on the Hot 100, the group’s highest charting single. Jagged Edge’s fourth album, Hard, was released in 2003 and went gold. The album’s single “Walked Outta Heaven” reached #6 on the Hot 100 and #2 on the R&B charts. Jagged Edge’s fifth album, Jagged Edge, was released on May 9, 2006 and it went gold. It featured the hit urban single “Good Luck Charm”. Also released on November 21, 2006 was The Hits collection featuring Jagged Edge’s biggest hits plus a few album tracks. The album shared the single “Stunnas” that’s also on the Jagged Edge album as a bonus track. Jagged Edge’s sixth album was “Baby Makin Project.” The only single released off Baby Makin’ Project was “Put a Little Umph in it” featuring Ashanti. It reached #49 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart. The group recorded so much material for the project that they saved eight of the tracks for another album, the album titled “The Remedy” was released June 21, 2011. The project had one collaboration with Rick Ross. The first warm- up single from “The Remedy” is “Tip of My Tongue” featuring Slip ‘N Slide Records’ recording artists Trina and Gucci Mane. A second warm-up single, “Lay You Down”, was released before the “official” single titled “Baby”.

About Stokley:

A seasoned R&B singer and instrumentalist, Stokley enjoyed nearly a quarter-century of success with the group Mint Condition before he made his debut as a solo artist. Stokley Williams was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on July 15, 1967. Williams’ father was a respected scholar in African studies, and the youngster began learning to play percussion instruments at the age of four. By the early ’80s, Williams co-founded Mint Condition with a handful of high school friends, singing lead and playing drums. After years of playing locally, the band landed a break in 1989 when they were discovered by Minneapolis R&B titans Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, who saw them playing a local showcase. Impressed by their New Jack Swing style, Jam and Lewis helped Mint Condition score a record deal, and their debut album, 1991’s Meant to Be Mint, scored a pair of hit singles, “(Breaking My Heart) Pretty Brown Eyes” and “Forever in Your Eyes,” and the group released a steady stream of material from the early ’90s well into the 21st century. It didn’t take long for Williams to earn a reputation as a versatile talent outside of the group. By 1995, his résumé included vocal and percussion credits on albums by Janet Jackson, Sounds of Blackness, Johnny Gill, and Color Me Badd, and later he’d work with the likes of Prince, Elton John, and Toni Braxton. Williams received a Grammy nomination in the category of Best R&B Performance for his 2011 duet with Kelly Price on the song “Not My Daddy,” and he contributed production and vocals to Wale’s 2013 album The Gifted, as well as 2015’s The Album About Nothing. In 2017, Williams made his long awaited solo debut, billing himself simply as Stokley; the album, Introducing Stokley, was released by Concord in June of that year.

About Dru Hill:

High-school friends Larry “Jazz” Anthony, Mark “Sisqó” Andrews, Tamir “Nokio” Ruffin, and James “Woody Rock” Green formed Dru Hill in 1992, named in honor of their Baltimore neighborhood, Druid Hill Park. The vocalists performed at the music industry convention Impact ’96 and were signed by Island not long after. By late 1996, Dru Hill had released their self-titled debut album, produced by Keith Sweat, Stanley Brown, and Tim “Dawg” Patterson. The single “Tell Me” — culled from the soundtrack to the film Eddie — became a Top Five R&B hit and later went gold. Enter the Dru followed in 1998, peaking at number two on the Billboard album chart. Despite Sisqó’s solo success with “Thong Song,” the group continued intact — along with new member Scola — and issued Dru World Order in 2002. Hits followed in 2005, eventually reaching three million in sales. The group released its fourth studio album, Indrupendence Day, in 2010. Their return was the subject of Keith Sweat’s Platinum House, a reality series broadcast on the Centric channel.
